Makin' Music

Ryan and I both really enjoy our Tuesday Makin' Music class (which is something I had never heard of before we moved here). We sing songs, play with instruments and look at (Ryan) and talk to (Mom) other kids and moms. It is a 45 minute class that I look forward to each week!

More Fun Stuff

Matt had to work on Friday, so Ryan and I just hung out in the hotel room. One of our favorite games with Ryan right now is playing "fetch" with one of our watches. He just LOVES watches, so I thrown one across the room and he "crawls" over to it as quickly as he can. It is very cute to watch:) After a few games of fetch, he was tired of course so he took a nap on the big and oh, so comfortable bed. Later on, after we went to the Olive Garden for dinner (which Ryan didn't enjoy as much as I did), Ryan got a bath in the hotel sink.

Well, there are a few more cute pics I could post, but I probably should be going to bed. Ryan hasn't been sleeping as well the last week or so as he had previosly. He also has been getting up between 5 and 6 in the morning which is just WAY to early for me!!!

Houston Museum of Natural Science

While we were in Houston, we visited the Houston Museum of Natural Science. It was a really cool museum. One of the neatest parts was the butterfly "rainforest". Ryan wasn't terribly interested in the iguana, and only slightly more interested in the butterflys, but he did like the leaves!

Ryan's First Airplane Ride

We flew to Houston last week to visit Matt while he is at training. Luckily, he was able to fly with us both ways as I wasn't excited about the idea of traveling with Ryan by myself on his first airplane trip. Ryan did wonderfully though. We were fortunate to have a whole row to ourselves both ways. As a side note, this was also our first experience with doing the whole non-revenue passenger flying. It only cost about $25 for me to fly to Houston and back (it was more for parking for 3 days). Anyway, Ryan slept for a short period of time on the flight and the rest of the time he just sat on our laps and played with his toys.

Mamma's Boy

We went to Hershey, PA last week. We had a good time, though we were a bit disappointed that they don't do tours of the factory anymore. As you can see, Ryan is obviously my son and already has a love for chocolate!

Fruit Puffs

I tried giving Ryan some of these fruit puff things that basically disolve in his mouth. I tasted one and they taste pretty good, I think. As you can see, he is just not at all sure what he thinks about them! I think he must find the texture strange. I give him a few each day and he seems to be getting used to them and not making such funny faces.

My Little Bear

Ryan wore a cute little outfit with bears on it to the zoo. He wants to crawl so badly as seen in the bottom picture. He can get where he wants to go with a series of crawl-like moves and rolls. He is very cute to watch. He can especially get to things he isn't supposed to have, like Grandma's sunglasses and he always wants to try to eat people's shoelaces.

A Day at the Zoo

We went to the Philadelphia Zoo yesterday. The weather was beautiful and Ryan was wonderful. We had a lot of fun!

Everyday Display

I have had this cool frame-type thing from Creative Memories for months now and finally got around to "assembling" it with pictures from our day at Linvilla. It was really easy because the board is magnatized so the little knob-looking things on each picture are magnets that are holding the picture and the paper in place. So, I didn't even need any adhesives or anything. The kit comes with the frame, the magnets and the little clothespins. Very cute, I think.

Linvilla Orchards

Yesterday we went to Linvilla Orchards to see the animals, play on the playground and get some yummy fruit and baked goods with my friend Lisa and her adorable daughter Emma. We had a lot of fun even though it was really hot! Lisa took these great pictures.

Chillin'

Ryan just relaxing and hanging out when we went to the beach with my family earlier this summer. He hated the beach/ocean - hopefully he will like it next year...

Cool gift

My friend Lisa made this cool Photogram for me for my birthday "from Ryan". She has a business creating these cool gifts for peope. Check out her website at www.photogramsonline.com

Progress!

When Ryan first started eating "solid" foods (which I don't really understand why they are called solid when they are really pureed, liquidy foods), he would make a HUGE mess everytime he ate. He tried to help put the spoon into his mouth thereby getting his hands all messy, then he would touch everything. Then one day last week he just stopped being messy.

Special Delivery!

Our mailbox was torn off of its post so we had to get a new one. Couldn't pass up the cute photo opportunity! Ryan really is a bit of a ham for the camera already. Hopefully he is getting used to my excessive photo taking now so he won't be bothered by it when he gets older.

What a little cutie!

We met Matt's parents at a park in MD last weekend. I had just gotten a new hat for Ryan and I think he looks adorable in it!
Well I have been thinking about jumping onto the blog bandwagon for awhile now, so I am finally taking the leap. This way, you can see what Ryan is up to (right now trying to help me type) whenever you want and I won't feel bad for constantly inundating you with emails of pictures of him. I hope you enjoy watching him grow as much as I am!
